The Telegraph: Not only has the regime cancelled a memorial service for her father in Tehran, but it initially refused to hand over his body. The family asked if he might buried in the famous artists’ block of Behesht-e Zahra cemetery. No, the state replied, because Pourzand had lived and died “un-Islamically,” suicide being hudud. At his funeral, half the crowd was made up Iranian agents, Azadeh was told; family and friends weren’t allowed to speak of the deceased as anything other than a father. Cell phones were confiscated as was the camera of one reporter who was temporarily arrested.
